07 Nov 25 - Reality TV Star Blake McGrath Delivers
Blake McGrath, finalist of Fox's So You Think You Can Dance (Season One) and cast member of MTV's Dancelife, delivered to two powerful dance classes for The Breakdown Master Class Series on Sunday, November 25th. South Orange County residents hurried home from their busy Thanksgiving weekends to take advantage of this rare opportunity to learn from this reality TV dance icon.
Blake began the event with a high-energy jazz-funk dance routine to "Toy Solider" by Britney Spears and concluded with a hip hop dance class performed to Spears' current hit "Gimme More". Both routines kept dancers both on their toes and on the floor with intricate arm, leg and torso movements articulating various aspects of the rhythms or words for emphasis. In the end, several dancers were selected to perform this challenging choreography for the group, who erupted in applause by the showcase of local talent.
"Some parents travel to Los Angeles to expose their kids to professional dancers with Blake's level experience in the dance entertainment industry. It is such a treat to have The Breakdown bring LA-talent right to our OC backyard!" commented Heather Neville, owner of OC All Stars Cheer and Dance, the host studio for the event.
Blake's unique style combines the traditional dance elements of jazz-funk, hip hop, ballet and modern, but integrates various pop culture attributes, like a fashion runway walk, to keep it interesting. When describing Blake's choreography style, dancer Cherelle Patrick commented "His moves are are so complex and intricate that you think it will be impossible to execute...then you see him do it. It was amazing!" Ultimately, each eight count is beautifully arranged in a physically challenging, but visually stimulating.

07 Nov 17 - Nolan and Jersey are AMAZED by the TALENT
Dancelife's Nolan Padilla and Jersey Maniscalco traveled to The Talent Factory in Chino, CA on Saturday, November 17th to teach a The Breakdown Master Class Series event...they had no idea what was in store.
Nolan
kept his classes on their toes with his fluid-like movement accented by
a hip hop grove or a surprise direction change. Jersey hit the floor
with her pulse -rising groundwork mixed with sultry, yet powerful
"hair-ography".
However,
the dancers at Talent Factory rose to the each instructors' challenge
and performed each dance combination with the poise of a professional
dance troupe. "The Talent Factory is true to its name in that it produces some of the most amazing talent I've seen." remarked Kelly Yvonne, the president of The Breakdown Master Class Series.
Still
images of this event were captured by photographer and creative
director of N Focus Photography, Nicholas A. Collins, who commented, "The
energy in the room was magnetic! Since everyone was having a blast, I
was able to capture images of each dancers' excitement throughout the
day. It was truly a pleasure working this event!"
The Breakdown Master Class Series plans to team up with The Talent
Factory on future events as well. Talent Factory owner Andrea Roberts
stated "Our
studio had a great time working with The Breakdown Master Class Series!
They were professional and helpful every step of the way. The teachers
were fun and energetic. All the students had a wonderful time!"
Be on the lookout for the next Breakdown Master Class Series event at The Talent Factory. It is sure to be a huge hit!

07 Nov 4 - Celestina Aladekoba Master Class
Dancelife's Celestina Aladekoba taught an amazing master class on Sunday, November 4th in Ventura, CA.
Her unique hip hop choreography style is influenced by both her West African heritage and her wealth of industry knowledge from performing with artists such as Prince, The Black Eyed Peas, Akon, Will Smith, Brandy and Nelly.
Throughout the class she continued to inspire the dancers by interjecting stories and testimonies about being discovered, auditioning, performing and improvising during a show. The dancers were thoroughly impressed by how "down to earth" she was despite her overwhelming career success.
"Celestina was truly an inspiration to me and my teammates that attended this class. I will go to any class she teaches no matter how far I have to drive!" one attendee commented.
